Coo Coo for Coconuts and Spin!

Happy Friday! I have a lot to talk so I will start from last night!!

I got home from work to some HUGE boxes!!

They were filled with tons of wonderful Coconut goodies from Turtle Mountain!

The first box contained Soy Dairy Free Coconut Milk Ice Cream!!

The flavors included Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, and Mocha Almond Fudge!! Of course, I tried one of the flavors right after dinner! A review…down below!!!

More desserts!!!

  • Strawberry Fruit Bars
  • Raspberry Fruit Bars
  • Orange Passion Fruit Bars
  • Coconut Almond Dairy Free Bars
  • Coconut Milk Vanilla Minis!!

AND MORE!!!

  • Vanilla Coconut Milk
  • Original Coconut Milk
  • Unsweetened Coconut Milk

Honestly I am not a huge fan of coconut but I plan on using this milk in smoothies and oatmeal! Yum!!

Almost forgot the yogurt!!!

  • Blueberry
  • Plain
  • Passionate Mango
  • Vanilla
  • Chocolate
  • Pina Colada

Amazing! I’m sure I will be trying something every single day! Especially the ice cream!

I got another package too! It is from Bakery on Main!

A nice bag of Cranberry Maple Almond Granola! I look forward to adding this to my oatmeal next week!

One more envelope!!

Coupons for free Tribe Hummus!!! I can never have too much hummus in the house!!!

After going through the great packages, I decided to try out my new Pilates video!!

I have tried both yoga and pilates in the past and liked pilates a lot more. There are a few classes at my gym but they are at inconvenient times so I decided to purchase this video to get in some practice! I heard great reviews on blogs and Amazon too!

I really liked the video! It contained 5, 10 minute segments, each targeting a different area of the body while strengthening the core. At first, I thought a 50 minute video would seem very long after getting use to 20 minutes of Jillian Michael’s, but it actually went very fast!

The instructor was very easy to follow and they showed the beginner and advanced version of each move. This was perfect for someone like me who has only done pilates about two or three times before!

Some of the moves were very challenging for me but I am hoping to do this video at least once a week to build up some abs! I would recommend this video to anyone looking to get toned and strengthen their core!

After my video, the boy and I decided to go to the Tower Diner for dinner!

I started off with a Coors Light! Nice way to ruin my pilates workout hahaha oh well!

I got a house side salad with Lite Italian dressing!

I ordered from the “Take a Walk on the Lighter Side” portion of the Menu!!

I got the 1/2 Pound Turkey Burger with Mushrooms and Broccoli!

I asked for some whole wheat bread but ended up eating only a slice because the burger was huge! I also ate the boy’s onion rings! So good!

The only problem I had with it was the broccoli and mushrooms were DROWNING in oil!! Lighter side? I don’t think so! I had to drain some of the oil off my plate and blot the grease because they were so drenched! Everything turned out delicious though!

I had one more Coors Light before running home in the rain!!!

We got home and just had to try one of my new ice creams!! We brought out the Chocolate flavor!

I took a scoop out of the carton before I added all of my fun toppings so I could get a true taste of the ice cream!

As I said before, I don’t usually like coconut flavored foods, but this was actually very good!! The ice cream was creamy and thick. It had a nice rich chocolate flavor with a hint of coconut!

From the website:

Made with Coconut Milk!

Purely Decadent’s new line of coconut milk ice creams are perfect for ice cream lovers who want to eat healthier without compromising taste. Sweetened with low-glycemic agave syrup, they are dramatically lower in fat, calories and sugar than most premium ice creams. But because they are made with coconut milk, they are incredibly creamy and smooth .
I am not lactose intolerant but I still prefer eating ice cream that is non-dairy to save myself from any possible tummy trouble! I love that it is naturally sweetened and low fat!

INGREDIENTS: ORGANIC COCONUT MILK, ORGANIC AGAVE SYRUP, CHICORY ROOT EXTRACT, COCOA (PROCESSED WITH ALKALI), CAROB BEAN GUM, GUAR GUM, NATURAL FLAVOR.

I decided to make it into a sundae and add Vanilla Ice Cream, Newman’s Own Oreos, and Bananas!

Delicious!! I would probably prefer the So Delicious Ice Cream without coconut in the future but it was still good and satisfying!!

I woke up today insanely early for the Spin-A-Thon!! I left my house by 5 in the morning to meet Dori and Melanie for a 6:30am class!
I picked up some Starbucks Iced Coffee on the way to give me a little energy!
We got there extremely early because I tend to get lost so Melanie was nice enough to draw me a map! We also wanted to claim 3 bikes together even though the class ended up being kind of empty!

Dori and I!!

And Melanie!! Don’t you love her makeup today!??! Hehe (privacy reasons)…

We also met a fellow blog reader there (Ashley) who I met last weekend at the blogger brunch! So fun!
At 6:35, our teacher was nowhere to be found! At 6:40, another teacher walked in and said our instructor did not show up so she was going to teach the class instead! She was not supposed to teach until the class after ours! You would think for a Spin-A-Thon event, the teacher would be sure to make it on time!
It was probably a good thing because our teacher was great! She played a really good mix of songs and was extremely energetic. It was a great workout and was so fun to spin with Melanie and Dori since we don’t get to hang out as much as we used to!!

We were supposed to get goodie bags and shirts for attending. The goodie bag ended up being men’s cologne and golf balls!! Very weird since the majority of the class was girls! My boyfriend was happy at least! I am very happy I went and of course it is always nice to get a good workout done on a Friday morning!

I got to work completely famished so I made a nice big bowl of oats!

I used Kashi Honey Instant Oats, Cinnamon, 1 Banana, Skim Milk, and a Barney Butter Packet!!

With a mug of Awake Tea!! The oats were delicious today!! I am going to miss my Barney Butter! That was my last packet :*(

All morning I stuffed bags with shampoo as I mentioned above. Fun stuff! Of course I did not go to the gym at lunch since spin was enough! I treated myself to Balducci’s instead!
I made a ginormous salad!

It contained:

  • Spinach/Romaine
  • Kidney Beans
  • Black Beans
  • Wheatberry Salad
  • Cucumbers
  • Artichokes
  • Roasted Red Peppers
  • Granola
  • Hot Roasted Vegetables
  • Feta Cheese

I dressed it with Red Wine Vinaigrette! Amazing! The roasted veggies were delicious!

As I was walking out, I spotted a table of Easter goodies!!

They were giving out bread with sprinkles and cupcakes!

The cupcake as delicious!! I plan on going back every day until Easter to get one!! They had a Passover table too but it was too crowded to get samples so I will be back for that too!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!

I glad spin class ended up being fun. I am insanely jealous of that turtle mountain box, I keep reading about those yogurts on blogs but I can’t find them in Brooklyn!

oh my goodness, do you ever have to buy any of your grocerys yourself? Where do you store all of this stuff you receive? I can’t imagine your fridge! If you’d like, I can send you my address and you can ship some to me…to store, or to eat, whatever.

    Those onion rings look amazing!

I always leave spinning looking like I just took a shower fully clothed – you all looked like you had so much fun!
