Cake, Ice Cream, Brownies=Sickness Cure!

Good Morning! I am finally back at work. I am feeling a lot better today. Friday I had to leave work at 12 because the bright lights and computer screen were making me so dizzy and nauseous. I really could not sit here. Saturday I felt good and went out but Sunday I had fevers all day. Today I am just tired and slightly dizzy but much better than last week! Vertigo was probably one of the worst illnesses I’ve ever had! I am going to do a recap of Friday and Saturday but save Sunday for my next post to save you guys from reading a novel first thing in the morning!

Friday

I got to work and decided to treat myself to my favorite breakfast ever since I felt so awful. I ordered from Energy Kitchen-5 egg whites with mushrooms, tomatoes, and low-fat mozzarella cheese in a whole wheat wrap.

Check out the inside.

I will never ever get sick of this wrap! Definitely made me feel better for about 5 minutes!

I sat at my desk suffering till noon and finally decided I needed to leave. I left at 1:00 which was my lunch time anyway. I decided to pick up some lunch on my way home so I stopped at Cafe Metro and I got a build-your-own salad.

It contained chicken, edamame, carrots, avocado, and low-fat honey Dijon dressing. It was delicious

I was craving ice cream (always great when sick) so I stopped at Tasti-D-Lite of course. I got half Cookies n’ Cream and half Chocolate Marshmallow with crunchies.

I went  home and passed out for about 5 hours. I woke up and this was in front of my face.

Yes, the boy came over and brought me a beautiful chocolate mousse!  YUM.

We decided to go see a movie later at night. We wanted to see Time Traveler’s Wife which was playing near us the week before but it was gone on Friday! We saw 9 instead. It was a cute little animated movie.

I think it was 10 or 11 by the time the movie was over so we were a little hungry for dinner even after all of the ice cream and cake. We took the subway to Applebee’s for a late night meal. We were the only ones on the subway! I was jumping around a little bit!

I got a Blue Moon but could only drink half since I was all dizzy.

The boy ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. We did not realize it came with 9 of them!

I think I had 3 and let him have the rest.

I got the California Shrimp salad.

It came with eggs, grape tomatoes, bacon, shrimp, and olives. No olives for me though. The shrimps were very good! We went home and passed out right after eating.

Saturday

We woke up at 1:00 in the afternoon both craving cereal so I ran to the store and got Kashi for myself and Trix for him.

I added banana and raisins. Yummy.

We found out last week that Armin Van Buuren would be playing on Governor’s Island from 1:00 to 5:00 for a Dutch festival going on. Even though we just saw him last week, we were both dying to go. I didn’t think it would happen since I felt so sick but I was feeling okay on Saturday. Finally at 2:00 we decided to try to make it. We got to the Pier at 3:00 and took the Water Taxi over to the island.

I am so happy we went! It was amazing! We made our way to the very front. This was my 5th time seeing Armin and was the closest I’ve ever been. I’m very in love.

I was very close to getting his autograph :( I got knocked out in the process.

This was my first time at Governor’s Island. It was very cute there! I want to go back when the weather is nicer.
He walked by me again!
Bye bye Armin…
The festival going on was called the New Island Festival. We checked it out for a few minutes and got some Gelato on the way!

Chocolate chip…very good!

Since we were downtown, the boy suggested going to Chevy’s for dinner. We both loved it last time so I agreed! Delicious chips!

I got a Corona Light x2.
I got the Sante Fe Chicken Salad: Grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, roasted red peppers with salsa vinaigrette.

It was delicious!! The boy got 3 tacos.

I stole his black beans. Amazing salad.

As if we did not have enough dessert already on Friday, he had to order another crazy dessert! Oreo brownie ice cream sundae!! Omg it was heaven. I tried to ignore the little 1370 calorie reminder on the menu! We downed it in 5 minutes.

We got home and got ready for my friend Kaity’s birthday. I was so exhausted and dizzy and probably should have stayed home but I did not want to miss her party. It was at a bar in the city called Slate. While waiting for the subway, a rat ran out at me. I started screaming and crying and had a panic attack. It almost ran over the boy’s foot. It was HUGE. Ugh so scary.

At the bar…

I did good and only had a few beers since I was so out of it. I went outside and played with the horsies!

We went home pretty early because the bar was kind of annoying and my friend was falling over right away anyway!

That’s it for Friday and Saturday. I stayed in bed all day Sunday feeling sick but I did do some cooking so I will post about that tomorrow. I had to miss the 5K but I plan to sign up for another one soon. Hopefully I can get back to the gym sometime this week!

Event Reminder:

Tomorrow is the first Live the Life You Love event at Saks Fifth Avenue. There will be money and career experts along with free makeovers and after hours personal shopping. Let me know if you are interested!
