Last night I celebrated my birthday with Dori, Melanie, and our boys at a restaurant called East of Eighth.
Originally I was going to have a big dinner a different night but hardly anyone could come. I decided to cancel and keep it small.
Dori and I ate there about a year ago and loved it! They have a beautiful outdoor garden and delicious food. We hoped to sit in the garden again this year but somehow it just never crossed my mind to make a reservation. Last year the garden was empty so I guess I was not too worried about it. Unfortunately we got there last night and they said we could not sit outside without a reservation. We sat inside instead and it was still really nice.
I started off with a Cosmo. It was delicious!
I had 3, actually 4 by the end of dinner because I drank some of Dori’s. I also had some of the boy’s Long Island Iced Tea!
They serve a huge basket of bread with a delicious carrot dip. I had some corn bread with the dip.
We all shared the chip and guacamole appetizer.
It was perfect!
For my main course, I got the: Chilled Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna-Served Very Rare in Wasabi and Orange Soy Saucewith Cucumber and Avocado Salad
It was amazing! The fish was so fresh and delicious. Under the ginger, there was chopped up avocado that was a perfect topping on the tuna. The soy sauce was great too!

Birthday song time
I was trying to think of a wish!
Check out this piece of heaven:
It was a warm pecan brownie pie! It actually could have been better because it was not very warm but it was still delicious! I can never turn down chocolate and ice cream!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in NY. Next time I’ll reserve a spot in the garden!
This morning I woke up and decided to make the boy and I pancakes and omelets!
I added cinnamon, chocolate chips, and bananas to whole wheat pancake batter.
I also made an egg white omelet with cheddar and Laughing Cow cheese.
I made the perfect omelet for the boy too!
I made way too many pancakes but they were wonderfullll!
I topped them with spray butter and syrup.
Yesterday during lunch, they were giving out Vita Coco drinks to everyone on the street. I decided to try it this morning.
Everything was great except for the drink! I don’t like coconuts but I thought maybe the tangerine flavor would make it better. I was wrong!! I had a Peach Vitamin Water instead!
Along with a few more pancakes! They were too good to resist!
I could never have to many pancakes! MMM! I am going to Philly in a little while so I have to go get ready! Have a good one!
