Back on the Wagon

Happy Friday!!!!

First I want to thank everyone for your supportive comments yesterday. They all really helped me feel better about my bad night. Everyone reminded me to not stress out about it too much and to start over the next day. It was tough having to see the pictures of it all but I think I did a pretty good job of redeeming myself yesterday.

For lunch I had my usual turkey wrap.

I ate it with Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps on the side.

Later in the afternoon I started to get the munchies. I also found out I would have time to go back to the gym after work since my boyfriend got out of work late. I had a snack of a pear and Blueberry Z-Bar with Peach Ginger Green Tea.

I was so happy when I found out I had time for the gym. My boyfriend’s train arrived at 7:35 to New York. There was a spin class from 6:30 to 7:15…perfect! This was my first time taking a spin class at the gym near my work on a Thursday. The teacher ended up being great!! He was hilarious, cracking jokes at all the songs that came on. He would also get up and start doing African Tribal dances next to us if we looked like we were getting tired. The entire 45 minutes was extremely entertaining. I burned 398 calories, had a max heart rate of 187, and an average of 167. Yay!

I met my boyfriend and we decided to go to Outback for dinner because I had a $45.00 gift card to use and we did not feel like cooking.

I started off with a nice cold Michelob Ultra.

I love that they have all the calorie counts on the menu, even the beer! It said Michelob was 100 calories.

The server brought out amazing bread next.

I ate half the loaf (2 slices) with a dab of butter. I could have just eaten the bread for dinner. It was so warm and soft and perfect!

I started off with a side salad. I asked for no cheese to save some calories. I got Tangy Tomato dressing on the side.

For my main course, I got a 5 Oz. Filet Mignon with a side of mixed vegetables. This was one of the lowest calorie entrees on the menu (590). Everything else was seriously 1000-2000 calories, even all of the salads! Crazy.

I asked for my veggies without butter. They gave me mashed potatoes by accident on the side. I tried to play dumb and ask for extra veggies instead of the potatoes but the server knew that I was not supposed to have them at all.

I ended up eating the entire steak and veggies, and maybe 1/4 of the potatoes. I have to say the potatoes were amazing! So creamy and flavorful. Luckily my boyfriend took most of them off my plate!

We came home and had nice drinks of rum and crystal light. About an hour later he said he was craving some chocolate. He was happy with a handful of chocolate chips but I decided to make a fun dessert for us to share!

Baked pears with melted chocolate chips, sugar-free hot fudge, and whipped cream! Yum!

Probably a bad idea for me to eat chocolate since we went to bed right after but I took a melatonin to help me pass out.

He left around 3 am to make it to work in PA. I could not fall back asleep so I brought out a Quaker bar to try!

I decided to try out the Honey Roasted Cashew Mixed Berry. I really liked this flavor, even more than the Dark Chocolate Raspberry! It had a really good taste to hit and big cashews to bite in to. I was thinking that it would be really good crushed up in oatmeal. I will bring some next week for my oats!

I passed right out after eating the bar and did not wake up till 7:30. I rushed to get to work and made a cup of Tazo Awake Tea.

I brought out my oatmeal ingredients for the day:

  • Smart Balance Oatmeal- My last one ever!! So sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 1/2 banana
  • Cinnamon
  • Honest Foods Choco Peanut Butter Bar (1/4 went into the oats)
  • Dates
  • 1% Milk

So good! Gotta love chocolate and peanut butter in the morning!

Today I may go to the gym for a quickie at lunch. I kind of do not want to go outside because of the crazy wind but I can definitely go for a while after work. The boy will be arriving around 10 or 11 so I will have plenty of time.

I will give you a little preview of lunch before I go catch up on my e-mail and blogs!

Tuna and Smart Beat American Cheese with mustard, hummus, and cucumber!

With Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps on the side.

I am looking forward to some tuna after eating turkey for 4 days straight!

Have a nice Friday!! 3 day weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yessss!!

Its weird when all teh calories started popppin up on menus that Steaks really did come down to the lowest calorie options. Mainly if it were lean cut pieces and not drowning in sauce.

You’re too funny (about the life of a secretary) because DANG if only I could get paid to blog all day, I would be a millionaire. ehehhehe

YAY! So happy for you for jumping back on the wagon! see?? Everyone know you could do it!! Just make sure you try not to fall into that trap too often. :P hahah Unlike you, I don’t think I’d ever get tired of turkey! I’ve had 3 cans of tuna in my cabinet for 5 months and I still haven’t touched them yet. *sigh* Looking to Melissa for inspiration!

Glad you’re feeling better today Missy! Sounds like a great spin class…I like the African tribal dancing part. Cool instructor!

I love how you get excited when you can fit in gym time…most people just talk about how much they dread going.

Pears and chocolate – much better than a handful of chocolate chips!

    Enjoy your 3 day weekend.
