Amazing Grass Giveaway!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and Father’s Day! I have no food pictures since I was with my family so I decided today would be a great day to start a giveaway!

First I will tell you a little bit about the company that will be hosting the contest!

A few weeks ago, I received a wonderful package from Amazing Grass Organic Green Superfoods.

The package included:

  • Green Superfood
  • Organic Wheat Grass
  • Chocolate Green Superfood
  • Berry Green Superfood
  • Pomegranate Mango Superfood

It also contained:

  • Organic Green Superfood Energy Bars (Original and Chocolate)
  • A Shaker

The first product I tried was the Original Organic Green SuperFood Energy Bar.

About the bar (from the website):

In response to busier lifestyles and poor dietary habits that prevent most people from getting their daily quota of at least 9 servings of fruits and vegetables, we’re proud to introduce our new, certified Organic Green SuperFood Energy Bars.

They feature a premium blend of nature’s most nourishing and delicious SuperFoods. The energy bars provide health conscious consumers with a more potent, convenient and affordable way to satisfy their hunger and deliver nutrients to their bodies the way Mother Nature intended – unprocessed, organic and delicious. We’ve combined our best selling and alkalizing Organic Green SuperFood drink powder with antioxidant rich fruits and vegetables and nutritious organic nuts and seeds to create the an unbelievably delicious and healthy treat. Green SuperFood Energy Bars come in two flavors, uncoated and chocolate coated with cacao nibs.

Like all of our products, the new whole food energy bars are

  • Raw
  • Cold Processed
  • Alkaline
  • Gluten Free
  • Dairy Free
  • Vegan

Our bars are loaded with 2/3 of a serving of our Amazing Grass Green SuperFood drink powder. Our blend is a unique and potent combination of nature’s most nourishing, cleansing and rebuilding green superfoods and enhanced with digestive enzymes and active probiotics to improve nutrient absorption. The blend combines nutrient dense green food concentrates with superfruits like Acai, the powerful purple berry from the Amazon Rainforest, high in antioxidants, protein and healthy omegas.. We also add maca, the amazing adaptagenic root grown at high altitudes in Peru that is known to provide sustained energy, boost the immune system and support vitality and mental clarity.

After reading all of this information, I was very excited to try a bar that sounded incredibly healthy. I was expecting a very grassy taste because of the name and the greenish color. The bar was actually very good. It had a slight grassy taste but nothing that I could not handle. It also had a nice crunch to it which I enjoyed. It was very filling and had nice nutritional stats:

230 calorie bar
8 grams of fat (healthy omegas)
4 grams of fiber
5 grams of protein
25 grams of sugar (naturally from fruits and agave)
36 grams of carbohydrates

Next I tried the bar in the Chocolate variety.

I loved this bar even more! It had a delicious chocolate coating with a green center. It made a very nice dessert and afternoon snack.

Nutritional Stats:

230 calorie bar
9 grams of fats (healthy omegas)
5 grams of protein.
27 grams of sugar only 2 grams is from the cane sugar)
37 grams of carbohydrates

I also tried the Amazing Meal Original Blend.

Amazing Meal Original Blend is a powerful and satisfying blend of Green SuperFoods, plant based protein, phytonutrient rich fruits & vegetables, digestive enzymes and probiotics. For a nutritional breakdown see below.

  • 10 grams of complete protein, 6 grams of fiber in every serving.
  • Full spectrum of Green SuperFoods – wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa & kale.
  • Organic Super Fruits – Goji & Açaí berries.
  • Great source of chlorophyll, antioxidants and essential fatty acids.
  • 100% whole food nutrition – no fillers or isolated vitamins.

I mixed the packet with water in my cool Amazing Grass shaker!

This one had more of a grassy taste than the bars did. I was lazy with it and did not blend it like I should have. Next time, I would definitely add it to a smoothie or make a Green Monster with it. It would be great with some bananas, fruit, or peanut butter! I really love how great it is for you! I have so many more packets to experiment with so I will keep you updated on my creations!

Now for the giveaway!

One lucky winner will receive a box of the Organic Green Superfood Energy Bars! The winner can choose whether they would like the Original or Chocolate flavor!

How to enter:

1) Leave me a comment telling me what ingredients you would include in your Amazing Grass smoothie!

I would try frozen berries or strawberries and plain yogurt. Perhaps some spinach, though that might be overkill with the greens.
