A Chocolaty Breakfast & Funky Monkey Review!

This morning as I was packing breakfast for work, I realized I only had one Turtle Mountain yogurt left and one Wild Muffin left! They both happened to be chocolate so I was a happy girl!

I ate them together with a nice big mug of Awake tea.

The chocolate yogurt looked like it was going to be delicious when I opened the container. I took one bite and was not impressed! The coconut gave the yogurt a very weird flavor. It was not the rich chocolaty taste that I am used to. Luckily my chocolate zucchini muffin made up for it so it was still a good breakfast!

I also snacked on some Newman’s Own dried apricots throughout the morning since I was not feeling completely satisfied.

The bag is almost finished by this point! I should have known that apricots would not last very long in my desk! They are my favorite dried fruit!

I made it up for it with a nice cardio session at the gym. I did 32 minutes on the elliptical. I plan to go to Kickboxing after work as well unless I happen to find some apartments to look at after work!

Lunch was a tuna sandwich!

The bread contained Laughing Cow and Cedar’s Spicy Hummus. Yummy!

I brought some Honey Dijon Cape Cod Chips for the side!

These were good but not my favorite of the Cape Cod flavors. The dijon flavor was a bit strong but still enjoyable :)

I brought some Jivealime Funky Monkey Snacks for something sweet!

By now I have tried all 4 flavors of the Funky Monkey Snacks so it is time for a review!

From the website:

Funky Monkey combines the great taste and nutrition of fresh fruit with the crunch and convenience of your favorite snacks. We do it by freeze-drying full slices and pieces of real fruit using a unique process to lock in the smell, taste, and nutrients of freshly picked fruit, while creating a fun and satisfying crunch.

Each ounce of Funky Monkey contains 3 servings of real fruit and containers no added sugar or sweeteners and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Our snacks are 100% natural and 100% delicious.

Today I tried the Jivealime: freeze-dried organic pineapple and organic lime.

I enjoyed these for something sweet and a nice healthy snack to munch on. They were not my favorite of the 4 because they were a little tangy for me. If you like lime flavored products, you will love these! Each bag contains 110 calories, 0 grams of fat, and 27 g carbohydrates. They are also dairy free, gluten free and wheat free. I probably would not buy this flavor again since I do not love lime and lemon flavored products too much. They also got stuck in my teeth but did a nice job at satisfying my sweet tooth.

A few days ago, I tried the Purple Funk: freeze-dried organic banana and organic acai.

I really like that these provide an easy way to eat acai. I know it has tons of antioxidants but sometimes can be hard to find. Each banana had a nice coating of acai.

These were delicious! They basically tasted like crunchy bananas with a slight blueberry flavor. Each bag contains 120 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 26 grams of carbohydrates. I would definitely buy this kind again!

The next kind I tried was the Bananamon: freeze-dried organic banana and organic cinnamon.

I loved these just as much as the Purple Funk! I usually eat my oatmeal with bananas and cinnamon and this was very similar but crunchy! Perfect to add in to oatmeal, cereal, or yogurt! Each bag contains 110 calories, 0 grams of fat, and 27 grams of carbohydrates. Very delicious!

The last flavor was the Carnaval Mix: freeze-dried organic banana, organic banana, organic pineapple, apple, papayas, and raisins.

This was probably my favorite of the 4 flavors! I loved the variety of fruit in every bite. It was nice to have a mix of crunchy bananas with soft raisins and papaya. Every bite was exciting and delicious.

This bag also contains 110 calories, no fat, and 26 grams of carbohydrates. I will be buying these again because they made a great afternoon snack for when I get my munchies. They also take a while to eat which is perfect for me. They also help to get in my servings of fruit for the day!

You can buy funkymonkey snacks here! The website is really cute too so I recommend checking it out!

Have a nice rest of the day :)
